Whitelabel e-signature: what ISVs actually need

ISVs often compare signature vendors on price and an eIDAS badge. What matters is whether whitelabel, tenant isolation and German hosting hold inside your UX. This checklist makes the gaps visible.

SIGN2x Cover: Whitelabel — was ISVs brauchen für eine E-Signatur-API

Whitelabel e-signature is not a footer logo

For software vendors, whitelabel e-signature means not handing customers to a third-party portal. Many regional and global vendors say white-label and mean: your logo on their hosted signing page, a redirect out of your app, their From-address. That is co-branding, not a multiplier model.

DACH ISVs need signing inside their multi-tenant product: same session, same brand, audit logs under your tenant. Anything else is a media break and support you do not own.

Requirements where whitelabel vendors fail

  • Tenant isolation: envelopes, certificates and webhooks per tenant, not one global inbox.
  • UX without redirect: REST or native components, not an iframe trap on a foreign domain.
  • Dispatch in your name: email, link, SMS on your path, not the signature vendor’s brand.
  • German hosting: STACKIT and Telekom at Sign2x — no US Cloud Act on tenant contracts.
  • eIDAS for software vendors: SES/AES/QES and seals, QTSP connected (Sign8), without Sign2x claiming to be a QTSP.

If any line is missing, you will spend the roadmap on workarounds. The live API embedding guide still stands; this article is the RFP list before it.

How your brand stays visible

Whitelabel means fields, mail and the completion page use your design. AI detects fields; the end user stays in your UI. That is the difference between “we have signing” and “our platform closes contracts”. API detail is in the Developer Hub, scenarios under Use Cases.

Evaluate without a vendor beauty contest

Write requirements, not a brand list. Anyone who ships on-premise only as an appliance, or sells an EU server of a foreign parent as sovereignty, fails. Sign2x is built for ISVs: whitelabel, API-first, up to 20% lower licensing versus comparable vendors.

Frequently asked questions

What must a whitelabel signature actually do?

Tenant isolation, signing in your UX without a foreign portal, dispatch under your brand (email, link, SMS), eIDAS levels including seals, and hosting without third-country access.

How does our brand stay visible?

The full path — fields, messages, completion — uses your corporate design. The signature vendor does not appear as sender or login page in front of the end customer.

Is an iframe enough for ISVs?

An iframe can be a first step, but it binds users to a foreign domain and session. For multi-tenant SaaS, a native REST API is the more robust path.
